My daughter was. Sweet black dwarf rabbit, needs new home. We dont have enough time for it anymore and would live to find it a nee. My 11yo daughter wanted a pet since her brother has 2 sugargliders. I thought at her age, a rabbit would be perfect. Loves to be scratched. He is gentle with kids, cats. This is my Flemish Giant Remmy. He currently weighs 12 pounds and is expected to grow more. He is extremely. Bunny was a gift to my 4 year old daughter from a family friend and she is nowhere near ready to have this type of.
All came from a single pair of Rex rabbits, who themselves are now just over one year old. The remaining all appear to be in relatively good health.
We want to state that we are not blaming or criticizing the previous owners for what has happened here. Unfortunately, the accidental breeding and subsequent explosion of baby bunny litters is a very common story for those who purchase or are gifted rabbits without much knowledge or information about their care.
All of this comes at a cost that is not easily spread out when so many are taken in at one time. This is the part where we ask that our friends, adopters, and supporters please consider donating whatever you can to our Wellness Fund to help these buns get all the medical care they need before so they can eventually be put up for adoption.
You can donate be clicking the button below. Thank you! As a reminder to our patrons, if you would like to adopt a rabbit, please complete the Adoption Form and we will schedule a time for you to come visit. If your rabbit needs a nail trim, we are currently scheduling these via email: hrrn rabbitresource.
We are open for boarding! Your rabbit s will need to be vaccinated for RHDV2 by your vet before we can board. Send us an email at boarding rabbitresource.
If you missed the opportunity to pick up your Rabbit Fun Run packet, please send us an email and we can schedule a time for you to come by: hrrn rabbitresource. For updates on the Bunny Boutique, please visit our dedicated shop page.
Add a bag or two to your cart today by clicking the link on the right. Your rabbit is sure to love you for it! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and Bunny Boutique shoppers, HRRN is doing better than a lot of other nonprofits out there.
The RHDV2 virus is highly contagious and only affects wild and domestic rabbits, but it does so with devastating consequences. The rabbits would likely stay in these cages for up to a month, depending on their history.
For those interested, these are two of the potential cages we are looking at — we would likely need something to completely contain the rabbit and their pee and poop full front glass. Along with need donations for isolation cages, we are also using the donation pool to help us cover the cost of having all the shelter bunnies receive the RHDV2 vaccine.
Our friends over at White Rock Animal Hospital have actively worked toward getting multi-dose vials to vaccinate all the shelter buns, which we all appreciate. Click the Donate Button below to help out.
April 25th Terry Deubel passed away. Terry was an advocate of HRRN, many other shelters and of all animals. Most impressively they gave 26 rabbits their forever homes since The old, head tilt, deformed, and sick rabbits. She could never pass up taking home the rabbits that had been in the shelter for too many years. Not to mention the dogs, cats, and guinea pigs she rescued. Terry was truly a selfless person with a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone or animal.
As is true with all wildlife, these babies are very difficult to successfully rehabilitate and the mother will give these babies their best chance at life. If you find a baby cottontail that is about five inches long, or the size of a tennis ball, this rabbit is totally on its own and its mother is no longer caring for it. These rabbits do not need to be brought in unless they are injured. If you have to chase an uninjured rabbit to catch it, the rabbit does not need to be rescued.
