They provide you with bread and an extra bite of whatever they choose for your visit and that item has never failed to wake up my pallet. THE K 9 Experience: I always like to specify when restaurants give us a hard time about our small service animal.
I also always like to specify when they do not. In this case, they were very accommodating! Drinks are obviously on the pricey side but still delicious. Pricey but worth the experience! Wency L. Craft definitely met my expectations and some more! By using winter squash rather than traditional chickpeas, the hummus tasted so much lighter and pack with flavors. Crackers are light and crispy. Enough said! Albacore tuna with blood orange — refreshing but probably the least surprising dish Short rib ravioli with black trumpet mushrooms — again, not as heavy as the usual ravioli.
Short rib was tender. A packet of tastiness! Mugifuji pork with sweet potato — I have to say… first bite gave me this illusion that I was eating a piece of steak! This panna cotta was bursting with this intense chocolate flavor paired with its silkiness. Staff were attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is cozy, not too uptight.
A word of advise… no need to dress all fancy like what Unilocal suggested. Jessica C. Came here last year for Dine LA. Complimentary — Amuse Bouche: Salmon mousse on wheat crisp. Great salmon flavor compacted into the perfect, tiny bite. Love the butter with sea salt though. Never had this flavor of hummus before. Really tasty and comes with thin pita crisps. There was grapefruit on top, which is an unexpected flavor combination. Each of us got 2 pieces. Initially, all 3 of us were going to order this.
Last year, they were individual servings. Our waiter this year advised against it since everything is now served family style. He suggested we order different items so we can try a bigger variety. When it arrived, our waiter was right, it was A LOT of pork lol. But no regrets, we finished everything. I can cut through it with a butter knife. The sauce is nice and earthy but also has a sweet fruitiness.
Complements the meat really well. Comes with 4 pieces. A bit smaller compared to the pork dish, but the sauce is heavier and they did not skimp on the short rib filling. Great for all of us to share. Charred the right amount and so flavorful. When they placed it on the table, you can smell the aroma right away.
I would actually pay extra for this. Comes with grapefruit again … Is it grapefruit season? Would have liked to see another fruit instead.
Really refreshes and cleanses the palette. Craft takes care of you for dinner AND breakfast the next morning. Service has been spot on both times, attentive but not overbearing. And listen to your waiter, they know best!
Free validated garage parking also a huge plus. Darien R. We ate here last night. Get your reservation. Perfect for special occasions etc. Cozy, spacious, inviting — all those adjectives and then some more.
LA dining is so often a cramped experience, tables so close to one another. So tired of being made to eavesdrop on the conversation of my neighbors at the table next door! Professional, reliable, efficient service. Just what I was expecting. Small, tender, heavenly pillows of white goodness.
This version gave us nothing to complain about. Pretty modest portion, so a table of three share just a bite or two. Just roasted cauliflower with a hint of curry fragrance. Cartelized and crispy at the top, not too fatty. Served with dates that were just pasty enough to spread over the crispy top of the pork to balance the saltiness. Would order again. The braised short ribs were the best I've had anywhere and the chocolate souffle was heavenly.
We were surprised to receive carrot muffins to take home with us. We enjoyed them for breakfast the next morning--delicious. We went for a special occasion and I was most impressed with the service. We had several courses and did not feel rushed through them. The sides were a good portion, but do not order the bok choy, too gingery! I was not crazy about the pricing of the steaks; to get a filet cut you have to order the extra large steak for two.
For dessert we got the red velvet cake and it was small, floury, and dry. The benefit of dessert, however, was the dessert amuse bouche and petit fors. Plus as a souvenier everyone got packaged cinnabuns to go. I would not return to have steak but the other dishes were good. I've been to Craft probably thre or four times and each time it has been exceptional--the type of cuisine where everyone gets quiet at the table when the food arrives because they are hunkered down over deliciousness.
The braised short ribs are one of my favorites. This says a lot because I am not much of a shortribs person. Never seen or tasted anything like it. Honestly, everything is good. I recommend just closing your eyes and pointing. And don't forget dessert! Maple bacon icecream--who knew? And fresh donuts--YUMS! And their selection of sorbets and gelatos--oh my gosh!
On to the WINE! Beautiful very well crafted wine list. The Wine Director has done a fantastic job creating a list that carries the classics, yet totally pushes the envelope. What's really great is their wines by the glass offer the standard five all exceptional but also some varietals that aren't typically offered by the glass in many restaurants. If you need assistance choosing, he is very warm, and helpful--not snooty patooty.
He'll turn you on to things you never even cconsidered. It's fantastic! I'm glad Craft has found a home here in Los Angeles. I saw a few bad reviews regarding service of this restaurant. I would say I am happy to have experienced the opposite.
I've lived in this town since ""93"" and have had my share of overhyped culinary experiences locally.. I am happy to say that the service was good too. The menu here is at least interesting and the everything that my wife and I had was prepared perfectly. Try many things. Cant say I liked the corporate atmosphere that much but had a great experience overall. If you are in a bad relationship but don't want to be the one to end it, simply take your significant other to Craft and I guarantee by the end of the night you'll receive your walking papers.
I enjoyed Craft from the time I entered the establishment till my party of three was seated at We were seated well before the Sunday night dinner rush.
I ordered the 20 oz NY strip steak medium rare and 20 minutes later was presented with beef carpaccio. The steak was literally pink through and through.
I informed the server and she said the steak would be re-fired to medium rare but 10 minutes later my horribly undercooked steak was back looking just as pink. Finally, I flagged down a manager and explained the situation. The expressionless manager said ""sorry, let me take care of that for you"" and took my plate. I took it off the check and threw it away. They clearly have very little knowledge about their own menu and even less about how to run a restaurant.
No one came to the table to ask how everything was, if we needed anything like bread, a drink refill, or more wine. The bussers were the only attentive FOH staff members but unfortunately overdid it. They would come to the table every 5 or 10 minutes and spend up to a minute cleaning the table while we eating.
To apologize for the steak fiasco the manager sent us some of the worst desserts I have every had, including the Craft Donut Dessert which is nothing more than three small glazed donuts. For two salads, two entrees, three sides, two glasses of wine, and three ice teas the check to to about The Hotel Wilshire Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA Distance 3. Print to PDF. Office Amenities Eclectic taste has been applied to gather varied and interesting cultural pieces and works of art in order to create a sense of exploration, evoke the curiosity of the traveler, and offer a comfortable, inviting milieu for your meeting.
Highly recommend. Great looking restaurant. Stop by only for a couple of minutes to check out their private dining room. Even in those few minutes we had friendly service and assistance and Anna the events coordinator was very helpful. Valet service is right in front which makes it easy to get to the restaurant. The level of excellence is off the charts.
They have every spirit you can imagine. They regularly delight with surprises like Welsh hare or perhaps even a pigeon. The potato puree is something I want to be buried with. That's how delicious it is. You know what?
